Historical Zululand Region

Not to be confused with the modern-day Zululand District Municipality (DC26), which is 1 of the 11 districts in the KwaZulu Natal Province.

Zululand is depicted to extend along the east coast of Natal, North of the Tugela River and South of the Pongola River as can be seen from the image below.

2010 FIFA World Cup, what did it mean for South Africa?

I don’t think we will get a clear answer as to how South Africa actually has and will benefit in the long-term. Politicians will paint it as a glorious triumph to justify their next Mercedes MLK650.

I heard either fantastic reports from businesses or the opposite. Did it assist in narrowing the gap between the poor and wealthy, don’t think so, fat cats get fat off the poor.

This was my question prior to the World Cup and below was my impression of what the World cup meant.

Just what does the world cup mean to you as a South African?

  • The chance to fleece tourists
  • An opportunity to show the international community what SA is about
