Description

In the majestic Kamberg Valley, on the quieter side of the Midlands Meander, lie Sheltered Vale Cottages.We offer you tranquillity amongst wildlife and scenic beauty on our 3,000-acre estate.Just 6 kilometres from Rosetta, on tar all the way to your door, you can book into one of our beautiful and well-appointed cottages for your perfect getaway.

Amazing fun on the farm…Free trout and bass fishing, a picnic  spot on the main dam and a rowing boat for guests, tennis, a trampoline, games room with table tennis and darts and a tree-house for the children, miles of walks, natural mountain bike trails, all in a beautiful hilly setting with abundant wildlife and birdlife. You will see Otter, Dassies, Turtle, Reedbuck, Duiker, Caracal, Porcupine, Fish Eagle, Crowned Crane, Egyptian Geese and so much other wildlife.Every night you will hear Jackal crying and the Woodpeckers pecking… 

The magic of the Midlands Meander is right on our doorstep too…Visit the local wine cellar, buy handmade chocolate or go chocolate dipping with the kids, get advice on the best trout flies and tackle for your trout or bass fishing venture, savour the Midlands food in a host of great restaurants and pubs on our doorstep, or wind down the country roads and stop off randomly at any of the many great shopping spots…and we can advise you on the best of the Meander…

Directions

From Durban/Pietermaritzburg The scenic route: Follow the N3 towards Johannesburg. Just past Midmar Dam take Exit 107 at the Howick North/Tweedie off ramp, turn left. At the T-junction turn right to follow the R103 past Lions River, Lidgetton and Balgowan to Nottingham Road. In Nottingham Road turn left under the railway bridge and follow the R103 curve to the right towards Rosetta. In Rosetta turn left at the road sign that indicates "Kamberg Camp and Rock Art Centre?". Sheltered Vale Cottages are 6kms along that road on the right. The N3 route: Follow the N3 towards Joburg. Take Exit 132 - the Nottingham Road off ramp. Turn right and drive to Nottingham Road. In Nottingham Road turn right under the railway bridge and follow the R103 curve to the right towards Rosetta. In Rosetta turn left at the road sign that indicates "Kamberg Camp and Rock Art Centre". Sheltered Vale Cottages are 6kms along that road on the right. From Joburg / Estcourt The scenic route: Follow the N3 and take Exit 152 - the Hidcote off ramp - swing left and go for about 3 kms until the T-junction. At the T-junction turn right and follow the signs to Mooi River. Keep following the R103 through Mooi River to Rosetta. In Rosetta turn right at the road sign that indicates "Kamberg Camp and Rock Art Centre". Sheltered Vale Cottages are 6kms along that road on the right. The N3 route: From the N3 take Exit 132 - the Nottingham Road off ramp. Turn right across the bridge, and drive to Nottingham Road. In Nottingham Road turn right under the railway bridge and follow the R103 curve to the right towards Rosetta. In Rosetta turn left at the road sign that indicates Kamberg Nature Reserve. Sheltered Vale Cottages are 6kms along that road on the right.
