Calmswood Guest House is situated in the beautiful leafy suburb of Kloof, and enjoys the cooler climate experienced at the top of Field's Hill.  With easy access to the M13 Pinetown and New Germany are just io minutes away, and Durban a 25 minute drive.  The Guest House is well situated to be a base from which to explore the various attractions of the Valley of a 1000 Hills area, or futher inland to th Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands Meander, and of course Durban and the beaches.

The many shopping centres of Kloof and Hillcrest are just minutes away and will provide all the services you may need.  The area also has a variety of quality pubs and restaurants to enjoy at you leisure.

The accommodation offered at Calmswood is 4 individually decorated double rooms, all en-suite, and with heater, ceiling fan, TV, and tea/coffee tray.  There is a small pub which opens onto the pool area, where the lovely large swimming pool is an ideal place to relax in the warmer weather.  Secure on-site parking is provided, with individual access control.

Attractions

Kloof and Hillcrest have many shopping centres, and the large regional shopping centre, The Pavilion, is only 10 minutes down the M13.  For the golfer there are courses at the Kloof Country Club,d Cotswold Downs, and Camelot.  The Kloof Virgin Active gym is only 5 minutes away, and includes a heated indoor swimming pool. 

The Valley of a 1000 Hills Tourist Route which includes curio shops, a crocodile far, pubs, restaurants, and of course, the magnificent scenery.  The PheZulu Safari Park offers an insight into the Zulu culture, and there are daily performances of Zulu dancing.

The Kloof Gorge and Kranskloof Nature Reserve offer trails and spectacular views, as well as picnic sites and an Interpretive Centre.

Calmswood is conveniently situated on the Comrades Marathon route, as well as that of the Amashovashova Cycle Race.  There is also easy access to the Inanda Dam for those interested in the Duzi Canoe Marathon.

Other attractions in the area include Shongweni Dam and Nature Reserve, Shongweni Polo Club for equestrian events, and the Tala Private Game Reserve.
