Description

Mtuba Manor is a stylish 4-star guesthouse surrounded by a flourishing sub-tropical garden with abundant bird life and a sparkling pool. Three en-suite rooms offer luxurious finishing’s and air-conditioning for relief from the hot Zululand summers. Being situated in Mtubatuba, we are conveniently placed halfway between the Umfolozi-Hulhluwe game reserve and, the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park –a World Heritage Site.

Activities on offer in the area include, whale watching tours, nightly turtle tours, tours of various private game parks and national reserves, horse trails as well as cruises on the St. Lucia estuary to mention a few.  

For fishing enthusiasts, deep-sea charters can be arranged, or simply fish in the estuary or off the beach at St. Lucia.  Unspoiled beaches at Cape Vidal and Sodwana are suitable for snorkeling and scuba diving respectively, where a wide array of tropical reef dwelling fish inhabit the numerous reefs.  

The warm Indian Ocean is also suitable for swimming all year round.

For golfers, there are two well-maintained 9-hole golf courses nearby. The Umfolozi and Monzi Golf Clubs are two of the gems of the north coast.
 
Cultural

Visit the Zulu cultural village of Veyane which is just 15 kilometers from Mtuba Manor Guesthouse. This village is situated in a local Zulu town and offers an insight into the rich culture and history of the largest tribe in South Africa. Allow approximately 2 hours to enjoy this experience. Ilala Weavers and zulu museum is a short 60km drive from our guesthouse.
Outdoors

There are numerous gentle walks within easy commute. Turtle-nesting tours (Dec to Feb). There are also many beautiful warm beaches nearby, the best of which is the unspoilt beach of Cape Vidal- situated within the Eastern Shores Game Reserve. Cape Vidal offers safe swimming and/or snorkelling on a natural reef within a calm bay. Guided or self-drive safari's in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve are also on offer within 25km's of our Guesthouse.
Adventure

Deep-sea fishing charters with Advantage tours can be arranged on your behalf, a wide variety of fish can be caught on these trips, including game fish. Kayaking tours on Lake St.Lucia allow visitors to get up close to an array of water birds, hippos and crocodiles. Whale-watching tours with Advantage Tours, booking is essential to secure your place for an unforgetable experience. Humpback whales frequent the nearby coastline from May to December.
Sport

Two 9-hole golf courses are within easy commute. The Umfolozi golf course is about 4kms away at the Umfolozi Country Club. Other facilities at the club include tennis and squash courts. The second golf course is the Monzi golf course about 15kms away just off the R618- the road to St.Lucia.
Relaxation

Salon Cyntique is a local first-class salon about 2kms away from our guesthouse. Another relaxing activity is to take a sunset cruise on Lake St.Lucia, crocodiles and hippo's are guaranteed to be spotted on these daily cruises.
